A Little History about Tipton’s Cabin Rentals in Townsend Tn
The year was 1996 when the idea to build a cabin came into our minds. Actually it was my fathers idea to build a log cabin on a peace of Emert/Tipton family ground located just off hwy 321 near Apple Valley. Anyway, we built the “Emert Bluff Retreat” log cabin that year. At that point we decided to try and rent it and embarked on a over 26 year journey. The next year we built the “Tip-to-n” rustic cabin just up the drive. Now that was a undertaking. 1750 square ft and 3 levels. It took a year to finish it. Then we turned around almost immediately and built the “Poplar Place” romantic Townsend cabin at the end of the drive. A beautiful one room rustic cabin with bath. A couples style Intimate cabin. Then about a year later around 2000 we decide to build another cabin. We wanted a 3 bedroom and something that nobody has in Townsend Tn or the smokies. “A Very Secluded cabin” with “No neighbors”. Along came the “Lady Slipper” Townsend cabin rental. It is one of a kind. Two years later comes the “A Time for Two” Honeymoon Townsend cabin. It was based off the “Poplar Place” and designed around romance. Well I would say that’s enough cabins for now. We were tired of building. Its seems we have been quite busy for the past several years. In April 2001 I quite my job in a oil cooler factory as well as Lisa quite her job at the doctors office. Off we go. You see we wanted to be different from a lot of rental company’s here in Townsend as well as the whole area including Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Just simple folks trying to make a living. As for the cabins we do it all. Clean, bookings, maintenance, paperwork and check ins. When you come to the office you want find a guy behind the desk in a sweater vest wearing a bow tie. We may be outside working in the garden, mowing or be on a tractor. What I can tell you is if you want a great truly rustic cabin in Townsend Tn near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Cades Cove. We believe have we what your looking for. All The cabins are built with rustic sawmill lumber, fully furnished, clean to the best of our ability and has a good cabin rental rate. With all that being said, we hope to see some of you folks in the near future here in Townsend Tennessee on “The Peaceful Side of the Smokies”.
May God bless you and thanks for your business ! Chuck & Lisa Tipton
